Today is the 60th anniversary of the tragic Harrow and Wealdstone rail crash that occurred on 8th October 1952. It was following the destruction of 46202 Princess Anne in this accident that 71000 Duke of Gloucester was designed and built. RIP to all those who died as a result of this accident.

LOCOMOTIVE UPDATE: Currently The Duke is at Eastleigh LNWR depot. The loco will be moved undercover to allow the 71000 engineering team to carry out a full inspection to assess what work is required on the loco. More updates to follow.
