I live by the railway at Haresfield, just a few miles South of Gloucester and I'm pretty sure this is the steam locomotive I heard...and then saw this afternoon heading North, and pulling a good number of carriages fuill of happy passengers. I'm no train spotter, but what a wonderful sight and how the memories of childhood came flooding back... when these great steam engines were part of the daily routine on any station !

So glad you saw the engine. There will be a few videos going live over the next couple of days so you might recognise the distinctive 71000 whistle.
